The Miracle Of Smallness Poem by Hugh Cobb

The Miracle Of Smallness

Rating: 4.2

(for Cathy)

It is remarkable: fragile wings beat air;
send ripples resounding through time & space;
help create events around the earth:
a future altered by a butterfly's wing.
It is all connected: each moment a birth;
each breath a reason for soul to sing.
Fragile beauty of spider's webb'd lace
lends meaning to an existence otherwise bare:

as delicate colors of flower's blooms;
& variant hues of wind-blown grass...
All-That -Is revealed in empty rooms
where only dust motes randomly pass
through beams of light. It is not for naught.
Each particle reflects God's secret thought.

Knock-out, Hugh. Serene, beautifully written and a fine reminder that it is the small things that compose the fabric of this life, together making the 'big' things... excellent. t x

Delicious! A great reminder to pay attention to the small stuff - especially us poets, who are so concerned with the abstract and the bigger picture. Hugs Anna xxx

Hi Hugh, Beautiful poem, I have been looking back catching up on what I have missed along the January way. This small poem is as beautiful as the sentiment, and we know, the best things come small, beautifully packaged,10 from smiling Tai 5'3' and a quarter, by the way! lol
