The Monster Is Back Again Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Monster Is Back Again

A cover of clouds
blanket the night sky
heavy rain pelts
the isolated street
thunder booms
lightning flashes
the sound of a storm
rages close
trees start swaying
whipping in the wind
crazy in their confusion
the voice of animals
quiet in fear
the monster
seems not far away
windows start to shake
pounded by
the force
houses might be
beaten up or knocked down
the people buckle down
and pray
the monster
is back again!
