The More Do Learn Poem by Francis Duggan

The More Do Learn

Knowledge to self doubt can often give rise
Since the more we do learn the more we come to realize
That of life we know little which can be a humbling thing
Though the praises of great minds so many does sing
We never stop learning in truth one can say
And we learn as we live from life every day
On saying that the lessons of life are not in the few
Is not saying anything that is in any way that is new
Those who believe they know it all are quite lucky indeed
Of any more knowledge they do not feel of in need
Yet what we do not know we never will miss
And in their case suppose ignorance can be bliss
Since the more we do learn the more we come to realize
That we do know so little this not a surprise.
