The Morning After Poem by June FeirCruz

The Morning After

Rating: 5.0

It was sheer agony when we said goodbye this morning
I could see your eyes while you held me
They were the eyes of a stranger, and yet they know my secrets
And they reflected my loneliness.

I would like to think that you felt sadness
That the time we shared had gone so fast
I want for the hurt to stop, and my longing for you to disappear.

My heart is heavy, my body shakes from the pain
I hate that I have to go, or that you have to leave
For I am to live my life without you.

A broken heart is so very painful! It's indescribable when one is going through it. Sometimes with death and then no one can do anything about it, but when the person just walks away it's so hurtful. Great poem, June! Warm Wishes, Marilyn
