The Morning After The Morning Before Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

The Morning After The Morning Before

I never thought the the sun would rise
The morning came with a pleasant surprise
The birds had stopped singing
The wedding bells stopped ringing
The universe came crushing on me
Disappointment flowing free

Ring bought
Doubt fought
Word came you were not ready
My knees became unsteady
The morning before this morning
I was deep in personal mourning
The morning after the morning before
You came through to let me know

My ring was yours
And i was yours
You were mine
It was time
To have eggs for breakfast
And i thought 'At last! '
The morning after the morning before
The morning after the morning before
