The Most Boring Newspaper On Earth Poem by Patti Masterman

The Most Boring Newspaper On Earth

I dreamed one night about the newspaper
How it had become pages and pages
Showing only people's altars;
Their shrines, pictures of their gardens..

It seems the whole world had renounced
Violence and fighting, war and slaughter,
To become peaceful citizens,
Spending their time praying, chanting,
Cultivating beautiful plots of ground.

There was no news to be had, not anymore.
The front page held only a photo
Of someone's impressively large blue shrine,
And every other page thereafter was the same.

And what was the most astonishing of all?
It was that nobody minded that there was no news.
