The Mouse Moral

THE MOUSE MORAL*
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
crazy politics
brainwashed, we tend totake sides
heads sway to.gimmicks

just scratch the surface
all.are brainless moneybags
should they hold our fates?

some are quite clever
catchy slogans need brainpower
here degrees revered

garibi hatao
roti kapda and makaan
make in India

their Gods, their vote banks
pamper, whatever it takes;
handy in future

divide society
caste, religion; poor and rich
set duels for fun

wage war on neighbours
divert, minds.from miseries
when nothing else works

loan waivers are scams
taxpayers.forced to bear.loss
sinister bank frauds

different parties
clueless on.economics
squander on freebies

at end of the day
all look equally foolish
leaving people worse off

when we go voting
perhaps NOTA is the best
rest seem quite stupid

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
``Knowing in part may make a fine tale, but wisdom comes from seeing the whole."
Seven Blind Mice -Ed Young
garibi hatao- hindi means banish poverty
roti, kapda, makaan - hinid means bread, clothing, house -the basic needs of every human being
the poem is based on Indian politicalscenario. too many foolish leaders, too many foolish parties; none know what needs to be done. they are in the game to make money and build their dynasty.
NOTA- none of the above- an option given to India's voters
