The Naughty Lovers Poem by Dónall Dempsey

The Naughty Lovers

NAUGHTY LOVERS

we nestle in
behind the tick of Time
stowaways in Eternity

Time thinks: 'Now...
where did I put those two? '
we want to shout: 'WE'RE BEHIND YOU! '

Time hears us giggle
puts us back in our place
'Naughty lovers! ' Time scolds us 'Naughty lovers! '

Time scolds us
for stepping out of the day
wonders: 'How do lovers do that? '

'Oh oh...they've gone again! '
we escape into
the bliss of a kiss
