The New Year Poem by Neela Nath Das

The New Year

Rating: 5.0

On 31st December'13,
I'll be pondering over
what will the new year
bring for me?
New leaves, glistened days
with fresh light and love?
May my dreams will walk
only on the floating clouds,
or fall as rain to get
evaporated again by fire
of jealousy, anger or disdain?
Nature is bountiful here
with all her beauty.
But, I forget to see
the honey-suckles and
the humming bees.
Chasing time is my
present task given by my life,
worthless, yet meaningful.
I want to drink honey from
my ostentatious days.
But, the greens pass
before me as mere sight
writing nothing on
my bored, barren page.
Monotonous tune
works only without
any delight!
I'm forsaken
without it though!
The new year will
be like this,
same as a dull day- -
with loveless work,
dull, hackneyed
and of course
with an unfulfilled
yearning, which
you know!

Every new year is unique for everyone....it depends each one sees the future! Life is what we make it to be!

same as a dull day- - with loveless work Maybe we can make a new resolution to love work and make days interesting for a change. Nice poem. Thank you.
