The Opal Stillness Of My Hidden Cause

they have stolen my ruby birds

from the sunset;

the emerald rains of my Oz

the opal stillness of my hidden cause

and poached my herds of words and their resplendence.

what should I say to you

stealthy by moonlight

luring the jewel tone colours of May

I kept collecting all childhood long

just to make one shining song

today.
