The Pain In The Story Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

The Pain In The Story

THE PAIN IN THE STORY
He's there but merely
Body n' flesh but routinely
Stealing his way into his own home but strangely

In the old adage exists he with a stature
Of old, commands he respect in his own household
But in the contemporary's read he in the past tense

Today does he steal his way into the lives of his loved ones
For all that's gone wrong's ‘cause of his unbridled toxicity
Watch him now, hamstrung by the very laws he himself made

This generation's gone awry
Fatherlessness or lack of father figurehead's the cause
Yet the common rescue's unpopular with the dying
