The Pair Of Deer
26 December, 2018
A beautiful, restless, innocent pair
Of little, harmless, heavenly deer
Standing in the wild meadow there
Beside the clear, running, lovely river;
Methinks it presents a charming fair
As, I myself have already been there,
O, my dear mate! For more let me know
O, mate! Once again you let me go;
Like them let me graze the tender leaves
Let me drink that river's sweet juice;
Prohibit me not from mixing with those
Though lower, they are gentle animals;
Let me run and jump fast with them
With those free, swift, nice beings;
Let me compete with lions like them
And like them let me courageously win.
Born as a deer but wish to compete with a lion.A nice metaphor.
A beautiful, restless, innocent pair Of little, harmless, heavenly deer quite fantastic expression of the pair of deer, some animals are really gentle and harmless, great poem
