The Passing Time Poem by Crystal Rosser

The Passing Time

Rating: 5.0

I feel your cold back turn upon me, and still
I remember the warmth in your eyes,
The ease of your shadow, filling
An empty space between us, I could linger
There in the passing with you.

I swallow each step you take,
Further and further away from me, I love
Know you better,
To walk away, rather
Than to stay away.

I reach for you at night, emptiness
Hovers above me, I love
Know it better to dream at night alone,
And I love,
Know it better to hear you when you're gone.
