The Pattern - Poem by Ben Paynter

there was meaning once
in the way
the stars were scattered
helter skelter
and you
would try and trace
the meaning was
in cryptic breaths
of air
a hand brush
hair on eyelashes
they said 'where
will you find love
it isn't
up there
and i never
did find it
in the stars
a quick brush
on cold cheek
love fell softly
into a dark ocean

Like a warm stain on the air. Between her and the sky, a face. Beautiful and inspiring.

    best care, Ben.
