The Pendulum Of History Poem by Raymond Farrell

The Pendulum Of History

The pendulum of history always swings
From one extreme to the other
The misery this imbalance brings
Inflicted by man on his fellow man
Is felt mostly by the powerless
Unapologetically they're swept aside
(Hapless, hopeless, completely helpless)
By history's changing tide.

Ever increasing myriads enter the ranks
Of those who struggle to survive
They labor with no word of thanks
To keep a corrupt system alive
Where a few prosper off the many
Whose basic necessities are denied
And whose rights, if they have any
Are withheld, restricted or swept aside.

Yes, a very unfair life. Good to remind us of it, more important, make us realize that we should do something about it, if we can. Good deed!
