I read you as I read a poem,
Though untold, subtle and sublime,
Through the maze built of words,
A clue for me, to your leafy dome.
Across dales and vales I'll there go,
To seek the pairs of deer and doe,
To gaze upon bright stars above head,
To nurture the flowers you newly bred.
Dazzle me, pray, with all thy tricks,
And share with me, all thy jokes,
Open mine eyes to thy magic world,
As Jesus would enlighten his flocks.
As Jesus would enlighten his flocks,
We graze the sheep upon the rocks,
Chorus of birds echoing from tree leaves,
While swallows twittering under our eaves.
