The Poet Poem by Paul Sebastian

The Poet

Poet's heart paints a picture
Dilutes it into pictorial words
Understood by hearts that capture
Meanings, grains of truth, in loads
Piercing like light through a window
Like sunshine in life's garden
Like breeze dancing daffodils on a meadow
Like cool breeze kissing the face of a maiden

A poet plucks beauty and love to give humanity
Gifted to open the hearts and eyes of men
Fills souls, hearts that are empty
Unites men of nations, making brothers of men
On a poet, some cast aspersion: "Wasteful dreamer"
Time-racers look away and pass him
Many return to pick the poet's love food, in hunger
Lost along life's path, gather poet's wheat of wisdom

Poets speak the truth of men
Poets give fragrance loved by all men
Poets smell the pathway flowers
Poets see the unseen God's showers
Poets hear the deafening silence
Poets feel hearts resonance
Poets feel the lips of Nature's enthralling kiss
Poets search and touch heaven's bliss
Poets live on after death
Poets give other poets, birth

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Though poets are condemned by many as useless dreamers and crazy lot, those who have hearts to feel find so much in good poetry. Poets are the weavers of dreams, the ambassadors of humanity, the sculptors of beauty, the emissaries of goodwill, the pioneers of revolutionary thoughts and what not...! Enjoyed!
