The Resurrection Poem by Paul Sebastian

The Resurrection

Jesus said He'd raise the temple in three days
Pharisees, blind, in disbelief questioned
Disciples heart-broken were in dismay
His death on Calvary left them disillusioned

Disciples doubted that He was the Messiah sent
Broken, abandoned, their faith was all low
They felt defeated and hope spent
Forgot Lazarus was raised, four days dead though

Mary of Mandala visited the grave, alone
Found the huge stone rolled aside, tomb opened
Inside she found neatly folded shroud on the stone
Signifying that He would soon return

An angel told her He had risen
Mary spoke to the Risen Lord,
Disciples disbelieved her version
Rushed to find empty tomb as she'd told

Disciples remembered all He had said
They now believed, Lord is risen, alive
Jesus is alive, the Good News spread
In Jesus they had hope, man had New Life

Christ conquered death
Satan lost His evil sting
Resurrection proof of our faith
Promise of life everlasting

Easter celebrates new life's spring
Spirit of hope, love and joyful living
Of friendship, peace and giving
Reason to live, living to witness
