The Pretense Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Pretense

It is
broad daylight
I watch from a distance
her walk boldly
into that mans' house
steal his heart
break it intoshamelessly
walk away
caught off guard
she cast her spell
he went under
it was all a work of fiction
someone pretending
someone playing a part
in life
just another broken heart
that love makes
a fool of!
