The Prison Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Prison

As I sit here
In this hotel lobby
What I hear
What I see
A jungle of people
Full of chaos and confusion
Restless!
Trying to get
From point A to
Point B
In the shortest time possible

Looking for direction
Looking for escape!
But the prison is life itself
You serve your time
Then you get your freedom
The prison cell
The prison walls
Is life itself
And freedom
Always comes with a cost!
