The Puzzel Poem by Rhonda Baker

The Puzzel

My heart is restless for so long now
Trying to make connections, but not knowing how
Looking for puzzle pieces that make up this life
Friend, daughter, sister, mother, cousin, wife
Putting the ingredients of ancestry that have molded me thus far
Trying to make sense of the past and heal any old scar
Where did I come from? And where will I go?
Whose live will I touch? Who will I know?
Am I a wrung on a ladder, for someone else to climb?
Or will I find a way that I can truly shine?
When my life is added up in the end
Will it be something beautiful, meaningful, mend?
Will my descendants be inspired by the life I am livin’
Be taken aback by the beauty and words I have given
