The Response Poem by Leslie Alexis

The Response

It rolls like a mountain of pure cane syrup
Slowing descending the glossy hills
Causing the heart of onlookers to stir up
Emotions that release untapped trills.

It causes quake to overcome the whole
With atomic force knees take place they never knew.
The man who proposes - quits being a foal…
A crying lover says: “Yes! I will marry you.'
