The Roller Coaster Of Life Poem by D.N. Rebb

The Roller Coaster Of Life

Why don't you strive?
Company me
And just take five
On the roller
Coaster of life

The onset stirred
The wait is long
Own little world
Things are still calm
Nervous jitters
Joy ride begins
Arm around her
Strap has you pinned
Upwards we move
Beautiful scene
Nothing to prove?
Bloodcurdling screams
Crash dive downhill
Sudden turn right
Swirling ill-will
You've taken flight
Then up n' down
Hands in the air
Far off the ground
Wind blows through hair
All whoop it up
Some look tad spent
But they hold up
Till the ride ends
Was so intense
Weak in the knees
Do it again?
We all agree

Time to revive
Laughter, full tilt
We're still alive
From this roller
Coaster of life

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I actually wanted to write a poem where life's metaphor is a roller coaster (you know, up and down, never knowing what direction etc) But this one basically describes a roller coaster ride. I kept the title anyway.
