The Scam Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Scam

Rating: 5.0

Give me the joy I had before
You started to slap me for every word I say
I was brave and bold when I was reciting
The lines of Eros until I met you
I want to experience the joy of the applause
Of people enjoying my words once more
Saying they have no meaning
And I am nothing to them
Release me from yr chains of pain
And never say I love you
If you do, I'll return in yr arms
And never knowing my worth
