The Sea Poem by Alexander Thomas

The Sea

The sea comes calling azure and alluring,
Gently stroking and caressing my feet,
Together we greet where land and tide meet,
Longing with faraway dreams both epic and exciting,
Tempting and inviting but also so cold and biting!

Swish, swish searching for that ever yearning wish,
It comes in waves and waves and waves,
As the soul craves a fate from which nothing saves,
But reaching the light on the other side of the ocean,
The sea swelling with emotion as I journey in devotion,

The swirling ocean such an intoxicating potion,
Sometimes rough and sometimes calm,
Always beckoning me with its wonder and charm,
Its capricious power a peril in which I could drown,
Lost forever in the depths when I sink deep down,

The sea clasps me, pulls me, takes me, swallows me,
With enticing whispers and a seductive plea,
Long draw the ocean, long draw the sea,
Its currents tore me free to lands of fairer bands,
And gentle hands to sing and dance merrily!
