The Sea Calling Me Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

The Sea Calling Me

Rating: 4.0

I miss the ocean
And the sense of freedom it gives
Just by looking at its vast expanse
Its waves reaching
The deep recesses of my mind
Cooling the heat, cleaning the dust

I miss the ocean
And the sand bearing winds
Coating me from head to toe
Touching each strand of my hair
Swirling them round my head
Lifting my spirit up into the sky

I miss the ocean
And the multi colored shells
Some whole, some broken
That I used to gather in my skirt
And bring home to play
In the seaside town I was born
