The Shadow In My Shadow Poem by Ombuge M Moses

The Shadow In My Shadow

It screams in my ears when I wake,
When I sleep, I see it clear
When I walk, I feel it closer
When I sit, I see it disappear
My shadow is in a shadow.

The shadow in my shadow
Has confused my shadow
My shadow is no-longer
The shadow that I adored
It now lives a shadowed life
A way from myself
I feel lonely, for my shadow
Is in another shadow.

I sit alone to watch my shadow
Away talking to a strange shadow
Inside the shadow there is a shadow
Combined they confuse my shadow
I run to my own made show of a shadow
Thinking my shadow has no power to show
My people don't believe in losing a shadow
They do not even embrace a new shadow
They fight day out day in with unknown shadow

I think to myself, this ugly shadow
Has swayed my shadow away from self
am lonely a show beneath my lovely shadow
To my realization, my shadow embraces other shadow
More than I embrace the value of other people a show
I fight for no reason, I kill my fellow human
Without proper dialogue we draw boundaries
Human fellows becoming enemies to shadow
A lesson to myself from the teacher shadow
Always never recognizing the value of humanity
A least a last, I now think to my self sense shadow.
