The Slogans Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Slogans

The slogans

"More, still more"
The crowd shouted with cheers
I was beating rival with punches
He was not even able to reach me

"Blood, blood"
I heard
With fear but regained
It also itched and pained

He was going down
With blood on face of own
I put myself in that position
People shall try to see me in same condition too one day

He was knocked down
With heavy punches known
The nose was torn off
The face had cuts off all over

What was I expected?
Was it equated with power of animals and rate?
I couldn't decide
It was now time to ride

My hand was raised
The slogans were shouted
I was declared winner
In ring I was master
