The Smart, Sexy And Saucy Me Xi

The Smart Sexy Saucy Me XI
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
I am in doldrums over the fact
That I am not being paid for my technical projects
But in whoops that I am finding out the secrets of engineering and science and medicine
I trust in Providence to do justice in my direction;

Personally, I think that the powers that be
Are being a little standoffish
But are not being mean to me
If the choice is between cold shoulder treatment
Or outright dressing downs, then I choose the former;

It "is written all over my face" that I rejoice
But as Joaquin Phoenix said during the Academy Awards
When receiving his Best Actor award,
There is so much of anguish and sadness in some parts of the world
That it is a blessing to be happy and well cared for;

This brings me to Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now
Based on Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness
Where an army captain goes by boat from South Vietnam to Cambodia
Facing the horrors of the Vietnam war;

Is the Vietnam war casualty count justifiable
In the same breath, is the Korean War a logical consequence
Of goodness winning over evil
But one has to look at relative goodness triumphing over comparable evil
And in both cases, it can be said to be so;

This brings us to Afghanistan where the atrocities of the Taliban
Are still being fought by America and Canada's involvement ended in 2014
But both fought on the side of justice
And women in Afghanistan must be liberated;

The Smart me has this project of making artificial gasoline from scratch
For gasoline is a mixture of certain hydrocarbons
And let it run on a $50 gasoline powered car and
Making it bioethanol, prove to the world that this is eco friendly;

The Sexy me would like to make silicon, a proven semiconductor of electricity and heat,
And study the peculiarities of light passing through silicon
In my ongoing studies of light and its properties
For it brings the light of darkness into the forefront
And it would be simply sexy to see silicon disperse light or diffract light or even refract light;

The Saucy me is going to study the play of light on Emily Carr's paintings
For I saucily say that her painting, Odds and Evens, which beautifully
Shows felled trees and growing trees in the light of day,
Is the best of her works for although she painted beautifully,
Her paintings are a bit scary
And to celebrate Toronto's special artists,
I looked up the chosen ten on Artsy.com
And decided that my paintings which are meaningful and beautiful
Have a winsome quality to them.
