The Snowman Poem by alan brown

The Snowman

The snow filtered down
laying a white sheet
upon my back yard
Children screamed with delight
as the whitest flakes
melted upon their brow

Men and children alike
strong and apt built the snowman
from giant rolls of compact snow
Carrot for nose
coal for eyes
and a mouth of black beaded studs.

Darkness overcame the tired eyes
as children dreamt and slept
As the snow filtered down
laying a white sheet
upon my back yard

Building a snowman makes us all the same age!
