The Social Media Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

The Social Media

To poor care-worn with gutsy goals,
They first gave voice to voiceless souls.
Then came when the wary watchdogs,
People's voice languishing in docks,
It went nigh whence it ere started—
Voice of the voiceless was vetted.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The social media have given the voiceless some voice. Sure, the freedom is often misused. Yet, curtailing freedom is not the solution. It shows the limitations of the powers that be to have effective checks and balances against the misuse, not vetting the voice, as this piece says.

Yes Prabir, social media are often misused, but that does not reduce their value. Selective controls yes, but not outright curbs.
