The Sociopath (3) Poem by Lenore Lee

The Sociopath (3)

Rating: 5.0

I think there’s something wrong with me.
I throw my hand into fire yet I do not feel,
Why won’t my skin burn and peel?
There’s no fire left in my life.

The cold wraps around me as an old friend,
One that I’ve never had,
I realise it should feel bad,
But I feel nothing.

I hear a joke and attempt laughter,
But I don’t find anything funny,
I used to find life as sweet as honey,
Now it’s bitterer then vinegar.

There’s nothing left and I wonder what’s wrong,
My life has no passion like it did before,
I am alone and I care not what’s in store,
It hardly even matters,
It doesn’t matter a bit,
It doesn’t matter at all.

Lenore, I have read all 3 poems 'Sociopath 1 - 3 befor commenting. Dictionary.com defines Sociopath as: so·ci·o·path [soh-see-uh-path, soh-shee-] Show IPA noun Psychiatry. a person, as a psychopathic personality, whose behavior is antisocial and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience. I don't think you are the sociopth of the poems but instead others? From all of these poems you are being dissapointed by the failings of others and in response become harder and resistant to pain. However, I think this superficial and is never quite true. As we are emotional beings and feel a vast range of emotions but do build protective structures to safeguard our mental wellbeing. As I have said before, good friends will be met and valued over time and these are life's treasures. The trilogy is good as always reflecting your true and honest emotions. Danny

AS I said before, a emotional master peice that touched me deeply. Especially these lines: I hear a joke and attempt laughter, But I don’t find anything funny, I used to find life as sweet as honey, Now it’s bitterer then vinegar. Thank you.
