The Soldiers - Poem by ANJANDEV ROY
The soldiers advance through the dark and desolate land,
They know their fate and future are not in their hand,
Danger and uncertainty always encompass them,
Still they are never afraid of it
And there is no dearth of their heroic elan.
Day and night are same to them,
Hot and cold climates are not different to them,
Auspicious and inauspicious are similar to them,
As their main concern is winning the battle for their nation.
Days after days the soldiers live far away from their near and dear,
But they have no care,
We must salute them,
As they are proud to win the crown and fame for their nation.
