The Song Of Dawn Poem by Mustofa Munir

The Song Of Dawn

‘Tis now dawn, open up the door,
Wake up O dear
Little girl! The birds are chirping over
From the Jui-branch there,
Run O flowery little girl!
Wake up O dear little girl!
The sun there
Crawls up in the sphere
Wearing colorful garb, listen there!
The gate keeper
Sings the Rama songs, leaving their
Nests birds fly high,
Together they come nigh,
In the sky they fly
With endless songs,
With dawn-breeze the songs drift along!
The unresting nightingale
Whistles to the flowers,
This time, this time
The little girl will wake up!
The helm is set up,
Ready to sail up,
There floats the boat,
This time, this time
The little girl open'd her eyes!
Not a lazy she is,
In the morning she wakes up,
In the night on her forehead
The moon puts a little thumb-mark,
The night ends,
Wash your face and hands,
Wake up O little girl!
While singing the hymn of praising
God, ask for His blessings
With gratification!
