The Spirit's Promptings

O for a discerning heart
As to when to say a word
And not to be a coward at it
But in boldness for the Lord
For we have not a fearful Spirit
That we should recoil at such
But a Spirit of love, power, and of a sound mind
Thanks to the Master's touch

For we have been saved to tell others
Of an eternal destiny
Either forever with the Father above
Or with Satan forever to be
Our so great Salvation inspires
Our hearts to deliver the goods
To tell that glorious gospel news
Obedient to the Lord as we should

So when there comes hesitation
But you feel a prodding from God
Pray for the words He'll give you to say
And that they might be understood
Be that witness for Jesus
Not ashamed to own His cause
But strong in the faith in the strength of the Lord
For the glory of the Cross
For the glory of the Cross!
