The Stag Poem by james watkin

The Stag

A comforting sight;
The resting place
Of stag, soft sun-blown
Grasses embrace.

Or English, brackened
Dark and airy
In a woodland trust's
Shade, oak-sturdy.

So far descended
From what had rose
Up-horned, for that classic
Highlander pose.
