The Sunbeam Dances Through The French Window

The sunbeam dances through the French window
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
Ponder do I on my physics problems and hope to strike gold in engineering research
And yonder lies the sun in all its glory
My heart runs asunder in quest of adventures at my work table
And with wonder do I view the world;

Of Sir Isaac Newton's work I have to learn
To hearts and minds won over
I say, the sun in all its splendour
Says to me, I shineth in Toronto, in Jan 2020 but my power is weak;

I tell the sun, Blazing a trail do you set,
And the music of jazz do you make
For weary am I of the lovely lilt of the classical music
And the beautiful blend of rock music has become blasé;

If a dancing sunbeam can make a spectrum of colours through a prism
Then sedate a light of even tone does it cast in the evening shadow
And if the winter's chill does pale your brilliance
The summer's heat I would like to pervade my being;

In its reds and oranges and pinks, the sun empowers me to new heights
And silhouetted against the blue of the sky and the white of the clouds
It brings the mantra of work
And the sun is my talisman.

Please note: In the Hindu epic, Mahabharatha, the sun is said to have impregnated a female character, Kunti, for she chants a mantra to invoke his presence. Do contrast with my poetic line.
