The Three Of Us Poem by Julia Klimenova

The Three Of Us

Rating: 5.0

I love it
When the day is windy,
The beach is empty.
Just you and me.
The gulls. The sea.

Me, solemnly
Reciting odes
That sound so odd.
You, lying back,
Feet deep in sand
Without a word.

And then we stand
In tidal foam,
Observe the swell,
Absorb the colour
And the smell,
Till our eyes
Turn salty blue.
You say, 'Feels right'.
I say, 'That's true'.
