The dust on the shelf -
Dry tears of the book
Neglected for long
Unused to the touch
So stiff and so tense
Yet slowly revived
The ink pulsing through
Its veins once again
Caressed by my gaze
And yielding, so proud
Of being reclaimed.
The image of the ink pulsing through the veins of the book.............great job. I see what others are seeing in your work. You are very talented. Sincerely, Mary
You bring such life to your poems. They are a joy. - this from a lover of books.
Julia, this made me want to reclaim some of the books on my bookshelf. Beautifully crafted. Kind regards, Justine.
Favorite books are forever friends, and I love them no matter how tattered they get. Thanks for this. You are new to writing in English? One would never know!
This is such a good thought, that we through our reading bring books back to life. I had never thought of it like this - a book is only as good as the reader, because without us, they just sit there on their shelves. You bring such thoughtfulness to your work, with odd quirks of consideration that make me think, and I LOVE THAT!
Books are nearly human to me. Anyone who brings books back to life has a 10 from me. Love Ernestine XXX
