The Tick Tock Of It Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

The Tick Tock Of It

Inevitable.
That sound of a ticking clock.
Heard to not avoid.
The tick tock of it.
Loud.
No mind can block out or stop.

Inevitable.
Is that which is man made.
Believed to forever,
Remain to stay that way.
Incredible but yet inevitable.
All that is given time to follow,
Fades.

And inevitable it is.
A mortality to symbolize.
To never again begin when it ends.
Or hear a clock that ticks.
That has stopped with it done.
To have been man made to erase,
Purposely without replacement.
