The Toddler Group Poem by Daniel P Martin

The Toddler Group

The morning comes, its toddler group,
The fun and games get ready,
But then, odd looks from adult to adult,
Strange smells have started already.

Play is suspended for juice and biscuits,
And then it’s back to the toys,
It’s nice to see them having fun,
But do they have to make such a noise,

A tissue clears the snail’s trail,
Its not very pleasant to see,
Each child is questioned several times,
“Do you need a wee? ”

“Out of the cupboard, you sneaky lot”,
“It’s not the place to hide”,
“Say please and thank you and excuse me”,
“If you’d like to go on the slide”.

The toddler group is done for the day,
But there’s still one thing left to do,
The adults repeat a well rehearsed line
“OK, so who’s done the poo? ”
