The True Poet..... Poem by Lyn Paul

You are absolutely right Lyn. But most of us here tend to stop reading the work of others unless requested through messages. Often we come across our own friends ignoring our writes just for the reason we have missed to read a few writes by them. A true poet just writes and his/her own inexplicable feeling that he/she has delivered the good is sufficient to an extent. You have spoken out your heart.But where is that true poet Madam Lyn?

Could not agree more. I don't vote, poetry is not about points. I recently put a deliberately sad plea on a poem of Y B Yeats here pretending he was alive and begging for him to read my poems and vote. Cynical of me but, he may just have approved.

Yes, poetry is about love on words, on the meaning, on the feeling it shared and the thoughts it comes...poetry is always like that for us as a writer, though i never think i am good enough to be called as a poet, but i do love poems with pure sincere heart...i agree with you Lyn...like a pink roses..its not about what color it shown but how nice it has...its not for eyes but for appreciation we may have not see but received_SOul

I fully endorse Lyn what you have stated in this poem. I have expressed similar views in my poems Aspirant and Competition (10w) . As a poet I have the humble belief that my poems would find resonance in some other poet's heart.

Beautiful poem from a beautiful heart..Dear poet hundredre of my poems remain unread.. Nobody cares to read especially My Stella series (120 poems and my inner realm series) .. Poets come read and go into memory..I want everyone to rain friend forever.. Thanks

Support is the essence of P H but so many over the years burn them selves out with too much time spent travelling the poetry highway but in fact going nowhere.so many have gone from this site...3500 was the score to be top in 2009 in the world.alas you are right in what you say of the true poet...regards

Understand totally, am with you on this one. However, I do try to read everyone's poetry without them asking me to. There's just not enough time in the day though, because I have to write all the time myself - it's my passion. True Poet caught my eye so I read it. Great poem, expressing what you think and feel. Your write is very interesting but true and to the point. Response and requests is an individual choice. The visitors to the PH site is the ultimate winners. We Poets only throw our hats into the ring and hope the bull don't trample on it! Good write.
