The Truth Poem by Katrina Lusk

The Truth

Rating: 5.0

Is there really such a thing as forever?
I mean this world has become so prone to lies and violence,
the truth is undefinable.
Drama and hate seem to cause a lot of pain.
When something is broken our generation throws it away.
Even though there are others in this world starving,
food seems to go to waste.
Teachers get paid to inspire and teach,
instead it's the government's standards they must reach.
Gas prices are high,
and the cost of living has been on the rise.
There are abused children out there.
Yet we are so self-involved,
we don't listen to their cries.
Bullying only gets worse,
which leads teens to suicide.
So many people are prejudice.
They don't care about the Blacks, Whites, Jews, or Gays.
They only care that God gives them their way.
For murder there is no justice.
The hearts of the victims loved ones become rusted.
This World...
You simply cannot trust it.
