Laying awake at night wondering what went wrong.
No more denial, no more hope.
Just cold hard truth.

A love that is over
A future that is gone.
A man that is cold and empty
A woman who has given up her fight.
I let go as it was never mine
I never had love divine

He says the truth is better than lies
Still the truth hurts, it doesn’t ease the pain.
The words slowly kill our love.
Empty heart, empty love.

A love which is not equal.
Mine given with arms wide open.
His trapped behind his defences.
Told I am owed the truth even though it breaks my heart
Break it
Smash it
Shatter it.
