The Truth Is Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Truth Is

Rating: 5.0

The truth is naked
No one has staked
Unblemished past
As it would have proved bomb blast

Everybody claims love
And blindly believes
That it must be observed
And with divine line served

Is it not hollow?
That we allow
And claim
Without shame

Father raps daughter
Brother does with sister
Neighbor does with minor girl
What are we today in turn?

Are we going back to Stone Age?
Priests and religious guards cleverly manage
Not a single place has remained sacred
Are we not falsely led?

I say nothing against
But what can be interest?
Let that remain holier than holy
We all must feel sorry

Today it has happened with me
And you feel unconcerned and free
Tomorrow it will be you
With pain and agony to pass through
