The Van Gogh Brothers Poem by Ima Ryma

The Van Gogh Brothers

The van Gogh brothers were quite close,
In childhood were seldom apart.
Vincent was often quite morose,
But very talented in art.
Theo was Vincent's go to guy,
And as they grew into adults,
Letters between the two would try
To brighten Vincent's dark impulse.
The more his art took on great life,
More despair, Vincent was consumed,
Caught 'twixt and 'tween beauty and strife.
Vincent died from a gunshot wound.

Vincent van Gogh for death did plead.
'Twas Theo who did do the deed?
