The Village Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Village

Nice were the old days
When village was considered good in many ways
The fresh was always fascinating
The herds of cattle in the evening were most exciting

Each man in village will come to know
About misfortune or about natural blow
If anyone had died or met with an accident
The whole of village population turned up for comment

Yes, the vegetables and fruit were in plenty
Milk was better than any outside dairy
Everything was pure and of good test
The nights were really cool and pleasant

Now they are no more villages
They have transformed into big towns
With everything, right from internet to brand new motors
No one seems here anymore poor

The land is fetching good price
The roads have been widened
There is great in flow of money
The villages bear similarity of English counties

A Beautiful poem on Village, cool and pleasant to read. Very true said, If anyone had died or met with an accident The whole of village population turned up for comment But now everything has changed into town, where life is entirely different from village. Loved reading it.
