The Waiting Game Poem by Geovanni Leaño

The Waiting Game

Now we both stand at the edge of this cliff,
Pretending happy, who'll fall?
Pretending strong, our hearts will not drift,
Now we both don't know nothing at all,

Now I decided to go on first,
Pretending brave, yet I sometimes cry,
Pretending satisfied, yet I thirst,
Now I'm falling, O know I can't fly,

Now my life's already in seconds,
Pretending hopeless, now take that step,
Pretending you didn't love - I'm your second,
Now I'm lying, waiting for your step,

Now we both know I did this for you,
Now I'm as cold as those eyes of you.
