The Wannabe - Poem by Cat Summers

You say you’re not a loser,
That you’re not like all the others,
But every time I look into the golden eyes of truth,
I see a wannabe,
A wannabe who wants to be just like all the others,
Stained from head to toe with the blood of the holy lion,
Who once held their righteousness in his imperial majestic hand,
But now they've torn free from his redemption,
Only to become another tattered face in the crowd of wannabes.
