The War Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

The War

You feel defeated
Your will and enthusiasm deleted
You have not lost at all
But in your mind you lost the war

When you fear a Black man
He is walking wearing a turban
You draw your gun
Stand your ground

He is someone's child
You label him primitively wild
You have lost your credibilty
The war is your mind's incredulity

You have already lost the battle
Despite the clangour and rattle
And your judgement error
On a march to a war on terror

Call a spade a spade
The terror is self made
To support a behemoth blood thirsty industry
No care for humanity and their injury

The biggest war before war
Is the mind even more
As they say "The hearts and minds"
The mind battle is the real grind

The prejudice in your mind
Hatred in your mind
The obssession in your mind
Assumptions in your mind
Gullibility in your mind
The greed in your mind
Fallibility in your mind
Superiority in your mind
Inferiority in your mind
Self righteousness in your mind
Inobjectivity in your mind
Subjectictivity in your mind
Feelings of grandueur in your mind
Misplaced religiosity in your mind
Disdain for science in your mind
Bending reality in your mind
Lack of contrition in your mind
Absolute decisions in your mind

I can go on and on and on
Conquer your mind on your own
The biggest war
Mother of all wars
Your mind war
The real war
The war
